Farage is not a cartoon character he is real and a menace to our country.
He is leading a party with no manifesto whose only intention is to destroy the EU with the help of unknown and shady financial backers.
Donations towards the Brexiteers have been made from some of the wealthiest people in the country, people who have a track record of tax avoidance and for whom Brexit will provide rich pickings.
In 2015 Conservative, UKIP and DUP MEPs voted against the EU’s plans to crack down on corporate tax dodging, by making companies report where they make their profits and pay taxes. The EU's Anti Tax Avoidance Directive (ATAD) entered into force on January 1, 2019.
Labour MEPs backed the proposals.
Is Brexit a manipulation of us all by the very rich for tax avoidance purposes?
The EU's anti-tax avoidance rules could be a big boost for our public services. Tax pays for new hospitals and schools. It builds new houses. It keeps us safe on the streets. It helps us care for children and the elderly.
Britain becoming a low-tax haven economy on the shores of Europe is a Brexiteer fantasy – and ATAD compliance poses a direct threat to that. But a low-tax haven for the rich will thrash the public services upon which the vast majority of us rely and deepen inequalities in modern day Britain.
The top 4 biggest donors for Brexit are:
Arron Banks potential criminal and tax avoider linked to the Panama papers and being investigated by the National Crime Agency who are trying to discover the true source of the money donated to UKIP.
Peter Hargreaves an accountant who founded one of the United Kingdom's largest financial services businesses. The billionaire stockbroker who doesn’t believe companies should pay tax, has touted the insecurity that would result from Brexit as “fantastic” and “We will get out there and we will be become incredibly successful because we will be insecure again. And insecurity is fantastic.” On corporation tax Mr Hargreaves says, “I never understood why companies should pay tax. They don’t have a vote. If they didn’t have to pay tax, they would come here in droves and employ millions of people who would pay loads of tax.”
Jeremy Hosking another multi-millionaire city asset manager using his wealth to try to influence the Conservative Party towards his personal pro-Brexit views despite admitting “there might be some short-term economic pain” Hosking’s approach to business ethics is similarly dubious. He invested heavily in online retailer Amazon, known tax avoider, and speaks admiringly of CEO Bezos’s business strategy: “He’s sowing addiction”.
Lord Robert Norman Edmiston became a millionaire through his company IM Group, an importer of cars. Lord Edmiston is said by the Mirror to have had his first application for a peerage blocked by HMRC over a tax dispute. He is also reported to have received an “accelerated payment notice”. Accelerated payments notices are given by HMRC to those claimed by it to have used a “tax avoidance scheme”.
Do ordinary people really think these people have their best interests at heart?
