The trouble with the Tories

I can recommend Michael Porteeyo’s documentary ‘The Trouble with the Tories’ recently shown on Channel 5. It could be described as being ‘honest’ about Tories but its honesty actually came from its lack of awareness of how awful that Party is with its entitled attitude to power and its blatant disregard for its responsibility, when in power, for the overall well-being of British citizens.

It was hardly objective in its approach. ‘Written and produced’ by Señor Porteeyo, a staunch and un-reconstructed Thatcherite and consisting mostly of interviews with Tory Party denizens of varying degrees of ‘bigness’ but all very, very beastly how could it be?

There were some token ex-civil servants, themselves hardly as independent as they are supposed to be and another not so closet Thatcher follower in the shape of Tony Blair. — Bob, your uncle Michael Portillo presents a documentary series about the current crisis in the Conservative party.
